Finance Consultant - 6 month FTC - Edinburgh

W&A is working with a public sector institution in Edinburgh to recruit a Finance Change Consultant for a 6-month contract. This is a key role supporting the finance function during a period of transition following the implementation of a new reporting system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing month-end financial control, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
• Driving process improvements in month-end close procedures and financial controls.
• Supporting the finance team as they transition to a new reporting tool.
• Engaging with Internal Audit & the Audit & Risk Committee, providing key financial insights.
• Assisting with year-end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.

About You:

• Qualified Accountant (or equivalent experience) with a strong financial management background.
• Strong controls mindset with the ability to enhance financial processes.
• Exposure to finance change projects, supporting system and process transformations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with team leadership experience.
