Management Accounting Manager - 12 month FTC - Glasgow / Western central belt

W&A is working with a leading organisation in central Glasgow to help source a Management Accounting Manager for a 12 month contract.

This role will be key to the team and responsible for producing high quality financial and management information for key central processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to act and provide high quality leadership in business critical team.

This role will operate on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce insightful monthly management variance reports
• Ownership and support of the Budget/Reforecast processes
• Monitor and recommend improvements to the internal control environment
• Co-ordinate system maintenance
• Periodic review of relevant balance sheet accounts
• Provide control and challenge on accounting matters to other areas of the business
• Ownership of deliverable items as part or group and local audits
• Support / Lead specific group related accounting matters where applicable
• Deep dive support analysis, reconciliation and clearance of specific areas across Finance Ops identified as priorities on a project basis

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant or equivalent, or qualified by experience
• Extensive knowledge of financial and management reporting
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate financial matters to non-technical experts
• Strong analytical skills with previous experience required in creating and writing commentary for management
• Strong command over MS Excel (Advanced) & MS Word is desirable up to but not necessarily including VBA
• Project leading and people management skills
• Resourceful and good attention to detail
• Ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner
