Position Profile

The Technical Accountant will play a key role in the preparation and filing of financial statements for UK legal entities while supporting external audit processes. Reporting to the Senior Technical Finance Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory financial statements for assigned legal entities under FRS 101.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver annual statutory reporting and external audits to timetable.
  • Utilise financial reporting software to manage statutory accounts and ensure compliance.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Liaise with the tax team to coordinate year-end provisioning and tax submissions.
  • Collaborate with business unit finance teams to ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Assist in the transition to a new statutory general ledger system and support process enhancements.
  • Reconcile right-of-use assets and lease liabilities in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Document procedures and contribute to ongoing improvements in financial reporting.
  • Provide financial insights and support to senior stakeholders within the organisation.

Person Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ICAS, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in a relevant finance role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 101 and FRS 102, including IFRS 9 and IFRS 16.
  • Experience in financial reporting within a complex corporate structure.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workiva, or similar tools beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and well-organised, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
